Before you challenge me, let’s consider why something so widely advocated might not suit everyone right away. Meditation is a powerful practice that can be challenging and, at times, intimidating. Not everyone is prepared for the depth it requires.
Today, I had a thought about the word "meditation" π:
- Medi = middle, center
- T = time
- "-ation" indicates an action, process, or state
Meditation is the process of finding stillness in the center of time. It invites us to pause, stand still, and observe our thoughts and emotions without judgment. However, not everyone is ready to confront their inner voice at any given moment.
That said, there’s still hope for everyone. It’s all about discovering your unique form of meditation. For some, it might involve sitting still; for others, it could mean running or enjoying a glass of wine. What truly matters is not the external practice but the inner experience of observation.
Ultimately, meditation is also a powerful tool for reconnection. It serves as a reminder that we are part of something larger than ourselves. It’s not solely about our individual experiences; it’s about unity, both internally and externally.
So, take your time to explore when you feel most present. Where do you hear your own voice? Once you find that place, make it a point to return to it regularly—preferably at the same time every day.
With love and gratitude,
Ilan Halfon
