Why You Must Think And Talk About Failure?

We all “fall in love”, when we are fully motivated to go ahead and pursue our goal, with the idea of success in achieving it. In this moment that we see only how easy it is going to be and how just like magic, when we will wake up tomorrow morning we “will be there.”

O, I love day dreaming, they could be so powerful, so real, and you know what, they are, those are the moment of “falling in love”. But the gap between the moments of dreaming to the moment of living those dreams is where we live what we call reality.

And it is this gap that I would like to talk about, and that’s why I called it “think and talk about failure”. And No, I don’t think you will fail, as a matter of fact I don’t really see failures, just as I don’t really see success, I simply see a journey to live. You, when we set ourselves for something, we tend to predict how long it will take, how we are going to do it, who are the ones to help us, who are the ones that probably de-motivate us (and how mostly we will not conclude them in), but we are failing to predict how hard it will be. Wait, don’t get confused between (what I call) the fear of ego that we all tend to get, to the actual hardship of walking the journey.

For example: A person who never runs.  Hearing a friend who run 10 km and was inspired by is getting the moment of falling in love:

“I want to run 10 km. It is going to be so cool, I’ll go on Saturday morning and it will be great, then I will go for breakfast with friends and tell them all about it, yaiiiiii.” This person already did a marathon in his/her mind 😉

The “fear” of ego: what’s the point, or, what if someone I know will see me running, I run so slow and so on.

The actual fear of training: how am I going to handle pain in my legs, what if my knees will hurt? Will I need a mentor to teach me how to run properly, what kind of challenges that I am not thinking of I could face?

My point is, when you set yourselves to do something, take the harder steps to genuinely talk with yourself about the actual challenges, they could be the way you think, the way you feel, challenges could varies for each individual but it is for sure hard for everyone.

So talk and think about it, make it part of your plan.

With Love And Gratitude Ilan Halfon

No Pain No Gain

We all heard the term: “No Pain No Gain”, I use it quite often with myself, sometimes even with my trainees. However, I am not sure people actually understand the meaning of it. We tend to confuse between pain of stupidity to pain of wisdom, between the physical pain of hard work to the pain of a fracture or a nerve. The pain of a fracture might be to signal us that we are on the wrong path. A pain of a nerve could try to say that maybe we are pushing too much, a pain of stupidity could be when you think you should jump higher than you ever practice for or before, or when you just go for a marathon run when you never run for 10 km in a row. All those versions of pain could not be and should not be part of that statement. Believe me when I say, that it is more painful to push through mentally when a thing seems statics then physically when you can feel the wrong pain. It is easier to say to yourself “if I don’t feel the physical pain I probably don’t push hard enough”, then to kee...

A Path to True Wellness and Balance

In the pursuit of a healthy life, we strive for balance, aim to maintain our health, and seek happiness within ourselves and our daily lives. While achieving this may seem straightforward, many of us face regular challenges in doing so. We often hide behind our screens, offering advice and sharing personal stories in an attempt to guide others. Yet, when we delve deeper, we find that issues such as obesity, depression, lack of joy, stress, and anxiety persist. So, what’s the key? I believe that self-reflection—practiced often, even daily—can lead us toward our desired goals. The first step is to define your destination: what does wellness truly mean to you? According to the Google Dictionary: Well: in a good or satisfactory way. Ness: denoting a state or condition. However, defining wellness alone isn’t enough to help you reach your aspirations. It requires your personal experiences, objectives, and passions to truly shape it. Begin by asking yourself: What does "well" me...
