Why or do I need Protein Supplement?

August 9 2016

Well, you don’t, mmm maybe!

With veganism rising up and more people are “concerned” about  protein sources, I think it will be fair to clear something about the topic.

To keep it simple, I will start by saying, that the average person’s body require 0.6-0.8 gr of protein per 1 kg of body. So if a person’s weight 60kg (132.2 pounds) that person’s body require 45-50 gr of proteins per day.

Another way to look at it is to consume 20% proteins of your total calorie intake.

Now, if you are an athlete or bodybuilder or trying to shape up your physic, than you might need some changes with the numbers of proteins.

For example, bodybuilder (man or woman) might get to a point when they consume up to 2gr of protein per 1 kg body weight. So that 60kg person will consume nearly 120gr of protein per day.

And it is in those kind of cases that protein supplement can be very helpful. Mostly protein supplements will be consumed after workouts but not only. I personally use them in my breakfast smoothie regardless my workout.

Which mean, if you feel that you are lacking with volume of proteins,  than yes, they can be great deal.

But first, check your daily menu,  look in to what you normally eat, maybe, you need to change or add nothing and maybe you do. At list now you have some tools to make a better decision regarding protein supplements.

Yours truly Ilan Halfon

No Pain No Gain

We all heard the term: “No Pain No Gain”, I use it quite often with myself, sometimes even with my trainees. However, I am not sure people actually understand the meaning of it. We tend to confuse between pain of stupidity to pain of wisdom, between the physical pain of hard work to the pain of a fracture or a nerve. The pain of a fracture might be to signal us that we are on the wrong path. A pain of a nerve could try to say that maybe we are pushing too much, a pain of stupidity could be when you think you should jump higher than you ever practice for or before, or when you just go for a marathon run when you never run for 10 km in a row. All those versions of pain could not be and should not be part of that statement. Believe me when I say, that it is more painful to push through mentally when a thing seems statics then physically when you can feel the wrong pain. It is easier to say to yourself “if I don’t feel the physical pain I probably don’t push hard enough”, then to kee...

A Path to True Wellness and Balance

In the pursuit of a healthy life, we strive for balance, aim to maintain our health, and seek happiness within ourselves and our daily lives. While achieving this may seem straightforward, many of us face regular challenges in doing so. We often hide behind our screens, offering advice and sharing personal stories in an attempt to guide others. Yet, when we delve deeper, we find that issues such as obesity, depression, lack of joy, stress, and anxiety persist. So, what’s the key? I believe that self-reflection—practiced often, even daily—can lead us toward our desired goals. The first step is to define your destination: what does wellness truly mean to you? According to the Google Dictionary: Well: in a good or satisfactory way. Ness: denoting a state or condition. However, defining wellness alone isn’t enough to help you reach your aspirations. It requires your personal experiences, objectives, and passions to truly shape it. Begin by asking yourself: What does "well" me...
