Tips on How to Keep Your Immune System Strong!

Great day you all, hope you are making the best of this day as you can. During these challenging days (COVID-19) we are all out of our day to day routine and by now, most of us already adjusted to the new (hopefully) temporary routine. However, I am assuming that the level of stress, anxiousness is still playing around our mind, which means, it is impacting on our whole being. So, I wanted to share some tips on how to keep your immune system strong.

  • Breath, Breath, Breath, set your alarm for an hourly reminder, and for one minute, take deep breath in and strong breath out. Do it for at least 1 minute. Or get up earlier than everyone and take 10 minutes to simply breathe deep. Do one in the morning, one in the evening.
  • Eat less than what you normally do. We are moving much less, and stress does impact our metabolism, so keep it light on your stomach.
  • Focus on Fruits, Vegetables, grains, legumes, or even better, focus on food that digest easy on your body. Smoothies and soups are great option these days.
  • Cut down your alcohol consumption, quit smoking and replace those with DRINKING WATER. I know easier said than done, but give it a try. Both smoking and alcohol are knows to weaken the immune system.
  • Move, Move, Move. You don’t have to exercise, but please keep yourself moving. Try to feel your heart rate going up, march on the spot, use more stairs, sit and stand up, band forward and backward. Keep yourself moving.
  • Rest, I know it might be hard sleeping when your mind is running back and forth, so take breaks to rest, even for few minutes here and there.
  • Talk to your loved ones and share what is going on with you in your head, most of the time, the way we feel or think doesn’t necessarily mean it is real.
  • Keep yourself and your surrounding clean, cleanliness is essential to help us, feel good, think great which both will lead to keep us, more joyful and healthier.
  • Observe the way you think and do the best you can to choose the right thoughts to play in your head. For this one if I may, I would like to share a great tool on how to observe the way you think:
    • Ok, just for the exercise I would like you please to make the decision with yourself for the next 24 hours, you will not complain. Correct, 24 hours, no complaining, BUT< remember this, you are not allowed to complain, verbally and silently, meaning you cannot complain in your head as well. Just for 24 hours, Make this decision with yourself, and watch what happens.

I am hoping you will find this post useful and use it to elevate the way you feel these days.

BY ALL MEANS I AM NOT A DOCTOR AND THIS IS JUST THE WAY I KNOW ON HOW TO DO IT, DOES’NT MEAN I AM RIGHT, IT MEANS IT WORKS FOR ME. SO PLEASE PUT IT IN PERSPECTIVE.

With Health, Love & Gratitude Ilan Halfon.

No Pain No Gain

We all heard the term: “No Pain No Gain”, I use it quite often with myself, sometimes even with my trainees. However, I am not sure people actually understand the meaning of it. We tend to confuse between pain of stupidity to pain of wisdom, between the physical pain of hard work to the pain of a fracture or a nerve. The pain of a fracture might be to signal us that we are on the wrong path. A pain of a nerve could try to say that maybe we are pushing too much, a pain of stupidity could be when you think you should jump higher than you ever practice for or before, or when you just go for a marathon run when you never run for 10 km in a row. All those versions of pain could not be and should not be part of that statement. Believe me when I say, that it is more painful to push through mentally when a thing seems statics then physically when you can feel the wrong pain. It is easier to say to yourself “if I don’t feel the physical pain I probably don’t push hard enough”, then to kee...

A Path to True Wellness and Balance

In the pursuit of a healthy life, we strive for balance, aim to maintain our health, and seek happiness within ourselves and our daily lives. While achieving this may seem straightforward, many of us face regular challenges in doing so. We often hide behind our screens, offering advice and sharing personal stories in an attempt to guide others. Yet, when we delve deeper, we find that issues such as obesity, depression, lack of joy, stress, and anxiety persist. So, what’s the key? I believe that self-reflection—practiced often, even daily—can lead us toward our desired goals. The first step is to define your destination: what does wellness truly mean to you? According to the Google Dictionary: Well: in a good or satisfactory way. Ness: denoting a state or condition. However, defining wellness alone isn’t enough to help you reach your aspirations. It requires your personal experiences, objectives, and passions to truly shape it. Begin by asking yourself: What does "well" me...
