Committing to something that is far from suiting your lifestyle just because another friend did and changed his\her body, or just because you read an article in a fancy fitness magazine is not good enough of a reason.
It is very tempting to fall into the “quick fix” trap; Ill simply eat only cabbage and will transform my body. Or I will juice and it will be done, or whatever you might hear of is the new thing out there.
First and for most, if you could, please don’t change your lifestyle for the look. Trust me, if you don’t like your body as is, you probably won’t like it even if you’ll change it, embrace your body proudly regardless of how it looks; I will leave that for another post.
Anyway, if you think you should change your lifestyle find better reasons than your look. I don’t know, maybe feeling more energetic, maybe being more relaxed, maybe feeling lighter, maybe feeling healthier, sleeping better, whatever it is, make sure you feel the reasoning why instead of seeking for those six packs or any other look you might think of.
The look of the body is only the results of many small things accumulating over long period of time. It won’t be because last week you signed up for gym membership and went to take a shower there, and for sure won’t be because of the salad without dressing you had yesterday, don’t get me wrong, those things might make you feel good, but won’t make an instant difference over your look, however, repeating those over and over and over for a long period of time, let’s say a year, can defiantly make a difference, assuming that you started working-out in the gym before you took the shower, and your daily salad is replacing one meal or snack that you used to have.
So next time you read or hear of something like a “quick fix” ask yourself the following question:
Can I live this way for the next 5 years?
Based on your answer you will know what to do.
I would like to add, sometimes, those “quick fix” do hold good ideas or techniques that you can use in your day to day, choose, try, not saying dismiss it all, I am saying, plan it in a way that will work for you for at list 5 years from now.
