I Am Healthy

“I am healthy”, which is also the title of my book is my go to mantra.

OK, why is it so important to have this kind of mantra on your journey to living healthier life? well, one cannot get healthier if he/she thinks like a lazy person, I choose to use healthy VS lazy, first, because we are not talking here about sickness or health, but in this manner I refer to it as taking the actions to be healthy or choosing the action to stay lazy. So without a mantra that will elevate the way we think, we might end up at the same place.

living healthy requires effort, determination, strong will power, self discipline, consistency and some might say even choosing boring life style, I beg to differ, but… all of those will not come to practice unless one is able to “THINK HEALTHY” this is the key to transform our lives.

So what is thinking healthy? If I may, before I dive in, I would like first to define what healthy is. Healthy is well being of the physical, mental, emotional states, where disease and infirmity are absent.

so if we know it is a well being of the above, all we have left to do is to figure out what is healthy thought that will contribute to the well being of our physical, mental and emotional being. If I think of myself as a lazy person, because I hate working out, I putt myself down, mentally and emotionally and since I do not take physical actions to change that part I will hurt my physical state as well. But when I change this kind of a thought to: I am an active person (not necessarily working out), this kind of thought will elevate my mental, emotional states which will result taking actions to add to that thought which will improve also my physical being.

Here is a list of thoughts that do no good to anyone, but I will help you think it in a different way:

  • I am lazy – I am moving slow to feel what works for my body.
  • I am weak – I just started mini routines to get me stronger, such as sitting and standing, such as taking stairs vs escalator.
  • I don’t have time to prep my food – I started packing fruits and veggie as my meals till I will have more time to cook and prep lunch.
  • I hate vegetables – Although the taste of some veggies doesn’t appeal to me, I choose the veggies that I like and try eating more of them.
  • I hate working out – my workout is walking

I believe this list can give you an idea on how to shift from lazy thinking to healthy thinking. remember:

Your thoughts lead to your emotions which leads to your actions which leads to your results.

No Pain No Gain

We all heard the term: “No Pain No Gain”, I use it quite often with myself, sometimes even with my trainees. However, I am not sure people actually understand the meaning of it. We tend to confuse between pain of stupidity to pain of wisdom, between the physical pain of hard work to the pain of a fracture or a nerve. The pain of a fracture might be to signal us that we are on the wrong path. A pain of a nerve could try to say that maybe we are pushing too much, a pain of stupidity could be when you think you should jump higher than you ever practice for or before, or when you just go for a marathon run when you never run for 10 km in a row. All those versions of pain could not be and should not be part of that statement. Believe me when I say, that it is more painful to push through mentally when a thing seems statics then physically when you can feel the wrong pain. It is easier to say to yourself “if I don’t feel the physical pain I probably don’t push hard enough”, then to kee...

A Path to True Wellness and Balance

In the pursuit of a healthy life, we strive for balance, aim to maintain our health, and seek happiness within ourselves and our daily lives. While achieving this may seem straightforward, many of us face regular challenges in doing so. We often hide behind our screens, offering advice and sharing personal stories in an attempt to guide others. Yet, when we delve deeper, we find that issues such as obesity, depression, lack of joy, stress, and anxiety persist. So, what’s the key? I believe that self-reflection—practiced often, even daily—can lead us toward our desired goals. The first step is to define your destination: what does wellness truly mean to you? According to the Google Dictionary: Well: in a good or satisfactory way. Ness: denoting a state or condition. However, defining wellness alone isn’t enough to help you reach your aspirations. It requires your personal experiences, objectives, and passions to truly shape it. Begin by asking yourself: What does "well" me...
