Healthy LifeStyle As A Concept

One of the things that help my life easier living healthy is the way I look at being healthy.

I have been exploring “health” wellness” healthy life’ healthy being as a concept. I am looking at it as a whole unit of concept and not just as one definition. for example: Being healthy means, eating little, exercise. or do yoga and drink green tea. don’t drink coffee and so on.

Looking at Healthy lifestyle with those kind of statements , you need to be insane wanting to live like that, it is relatively “empty”. there is no value in those kind of statements.

So what does it mean looking at healthy lifestyle as a concept?

Well, that is the great news here, when we are looking at something as a concept we are opening the door for our own experience and our subjective point of views to help us create a clear definition that works for us and not a definition that dictate what is good for us or not.

you see, what I see as healthy by many other people will be described as an extreme lifestyle, and what they might defined as healthy might be a no no in my lifestyle.

The bad news about looking at healthy life style as a concept is that we take responsibility and accountability to learn and explore what is working for us, and let me tell you, it is not as easy as it sounds. However, once you understand how and what are the things works for you, it is really easy to follow and apply to your day to day lifestyle.

Let me try and use myself as an example.

For me, the concept of healthy life is:

living in harmony between what I think, what I feel, what I do and what I speak.

Since it is a rule of thumb for me to follow this concept it is easier for me to stay on track even with the things I don’t always feel like doing. If I know that running makes me feel great, and I know that over eating will prevent me running, which will make me feel not at my best, it is easier not to over eat because I understand the circle I am creating. If glass of wine will shift my mind to wonder and I MIGHT loos control on the way I think, which will make me act in a way that can make me feel bad with myself, then I know that wine is not part pf my healthy living, although there are many health advocate who believe that drinking wine is almost essential to live healthy.

So at the end of the day what I am trying to say here is that: Find your truth of what healthy life means to you, and start taking small steps to follow your own guidelines. And if you are still not sure on how to do it, please read my blog with what are the 3 questions…

I hope you found this post helpful, Please share.

With love and gratitude Ilan Halfon

No Pain No Gain

We all heard the term: “No Pain No Gain”, I use it quite often with myself, sometimes even with my trainees. However, I am not sure people actually understand the meaning of it. We tend to confuse between pain of stupidity to pain of wisdom, between the physical pain of hard work to the pain of a fracture or a nerve. The pain of a fracture might be to signal us that we are on the wrong path. A pain of a nerve could try to say that maybe we are pushing too much, a pain of stupidity could be when you think you should jump higher than you ever practice for or before, or when you just go for a marathon run when you never run for 10 km in a row. All those versions of pain could not be and should not be part of that statement. Believe me when I say, that it is more painful to push through mentally when a thing seems statics then physically when you can feel the wrong pain. It is easier to say to yourself “if I don’t feel the physical pain I probably don’t push hard enough”, then to kee...

A Path to True Wellness and Balance

In the pursuit of a healthy life, we strive for balance, aim to maintain our health, and seek happiness within ourselves and our daily lives. While achieving this may seem straightforward, many of us face regular challenges in doing so. We often hide behind our screens, offering advice and sharing personal stories in an attempt to guide others. Yet, when we delve deeper, we find that issues such as obesity, depression, lack of joy, stress, and anxiety persist. So, what’s the key? I believe that self-reflection—practiced often, even daily—can lead us toward our desired goals. The first step is to define your destination: what does wellness truly mean to you? According to the Google Dictionary: Well: in a good or satisfactory way. Ness: denoting a state or condition. However, defining wellness alone isn’t enough to help you reach your aspirations. It requires your personal experiences, objectives, and passions to truly shape it. Begin by asking yourself: What does "well" me...
